Electronic Timing!
We're working on an electronic timing solution for flying 200's
We've been using two or three hand stopwatches to time flying 200's for the last two seasons. Human timing is generally considered accurate to the 10th of a second, but it's also prone to errors, people getting distracted etc. So, John Lewis is developing a timing solution that will be automatic for flying 200's that won't break the bank of aboc. Commercial systems start at around $3,500 or so (for two timing sensors and a stopwatch!) which is simply more than we can afford, but a home grown system is on the cards.
We'll keep everyone posted on it and it will be very well tested before we use it.
