The Blackburn Cycling Club Summer Sprint Series

Proudly supported by aboc Cycle Coaching,
The Summer Sprint Series returns for 2015-2016.

This graded match sprint series runs at the Blackburn Cycling clubRob and Leah, neck and neck velodrome over 'summer' with a race meeting once a month on Sunday afternoons from October to February. The series is open to licenced ACF (Cycling Australia) Senior (adult) riders and juniors using UCI legal track bicycles only. Riders younger than J19 must show competency at track riding before being allowed to compete.

The series is a graded match sprint series, if there are sufficient numbers of riders we run 3 or 4 grades on each day. Riders qualify at first with flying 200s and are then split into grades where there will be a round robin or partial round robin to determine the top four riders from each grade, who then race for the top three places.

Entry fees are $15 per rider per day.  One day licenses are not available.  It is expected that each rider will have the opportunity to have three match sprints per day plus finals. You will not be eliminated in the first round. The aim of this series is for riders to gain experience and to get as much time racing as we can squeeze into an afternoon. All riders and spectators are welcome to the post-racing free BBQ.

Prizemoney is paid as a percentage of the entry fees collected on the day and riders also compete for a daily aggregate prizes and gain points towards series aggregate prizes and the perpetual Trevor Watson Trophy.
